"Silver Liz", a portrait of famous movie star Elizabeth Taylor, by Andy Warhol, the advocate and leader of pop art and one of the most famous artists in the 20th century art world, was successfully sold at an auction at Tokyo Haneda Airport on the 30th for a sky-high price of 2.3 billion yen, setting a record for the highest price of its kind in history.

•Andy Warhol (August 6, 1928 - February 22, 1987), known as one of the most famous figures in the art world of the 20th century, is an advocate and leader of Pop Art and the artist who has the greatest influence on Pop Art. He boldly tried various reproduction techniques such as relief printing, rubber or wood rubbing, gold leaf technology, photo projection, etc.

In addition to being a leader of pop art, Warhol was also a film producer, writer, rock composer, publisher, and a star artist in New York's social and art circles. In 2014, his portrait of Mao Zedong was auctioned in the UK for a high price of 7.6 million pounds (about 76.63 million yuan).

•In addition, another work by Andy Warhol, a portrait of Marilyn Monroe, will also be auctioned at Christie's in the United States in May, with the industry's estimated value reaching US$200 million (approximately 20 billion yen).
