Seiko launches a themed watch in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the classic "The Rose of Versailles"

2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of the classic Japanese girl manga "The Rose of Versailles". As a commemorative plan, Seiko, an old watchmaking factory, launched a new theme watch, which will be released today, January 26. It is glittering with gold, well-made, and has both beauty and strength.

The Rose of Versailles is a romantic historical drama set against the backdrop of the French Revolution that was serialized by Riyoko Ikeda in the weekly magazine Margaret in 1972. The work was a huge success and was adapted into a TV animation, a live-action movie, and a stage play, breaking the long-standing monopoly of Tezuka Osamu on the expression of girls' comics in the Japanese comics industry. It is known as one of the three immortal masterpieces of the 1970s, along with Tezuka Osamu's Black Jack and Nagai Go's Devilman.

The Seiko themed watch commemorating the 50th anniversary of The Rose of Versailles adopts a golden rose theme with a white dial background. Many elements of the original work are depicted on the hands and dial, which is gorgeous and noble.

The Seiko themed watch commemorating the 50th anniversary of "The Rose of Versailles" is limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide. It is waterproof to 5 atmospheres and priced at 54,780 yen. It is on sale today and is scheduled to be shipped in late March. Interested fans can follow: official page.
