HBO Max enters the top 10 app downloads in the United States in 2021

Research agency Apptopia recently announced the TOP 10 APP downloads in the United States in 2021. HBO Max, owned by Warner Media, ranked tenth with 45 million downloads and is the only streaming APP in the list.

It seems that Warner's strategy of releasing its blockbuster movies in theaters simultaneously on streaming media this year has at least played a role in increasing the number of mobile APP downloads.

The survey was conducted as of December 20, 2021. According to data released by AT&T, the parent company of Warner Media, in October, HBO Max had accumulated 45.2 million subscribers as of September 30.

However, when using streaming services, users are more likely to use smart TVs and smart TV boxes, and mobile phone APP downloads only indirectly confirm the popularity of HBO Max.

Netflix is ​​still the leading streaming service in the US, with 214 million subscribers worldwide. As of November, Disney+ had 118 million subscribers worldwide. HBO Max has not developed much in the market outside the US, so there is still a big gap between them.
