"Godzilla 1.0" won the Oscar for Visual Effects, the first breakthrough for an Asian film

At the 96th Academy Awards ceremony held today, "Godzilla 1.0" won the Oscar for Visual Effects, marking the first time that an Asian film has won such an award.

"Godzilla - 1.0" is a film directed and written by Takashi Yamazaki, starring Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe. It will be released in Japan on November 3, 2023.
The film is a commemorative work to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Godzilla's birth and is also Toho's 30th Godzilla masterpiece. The story is set in post-World War II Japan. The appearance of Godzilla seems to add another blow to Japan, which has already become nothing (returned to 0), and hit the country to a negative value (minus 1.0).
