The reboot of the classic horror film "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" has released its first trailer and stills. The film is directed by David Blue Garcia and stars Elsie Fisher ("Eighth Grade"), Sarah Yarkin ("Happy Death Day 2"), Mark Burnham ("Bad Cop"), Mo Dunford ("The Dig", "Vikings") and others. It will be launched on Netflix on February 18, 2022.

The reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be the ninth film in the series. The first film, directed by Tobe Hooper in 1974, is recognized as one of the greatest horror films of all time. That year, the film grossed $30 million at the domestic box office with a cost of less than $300,000, making it the most successful American independent film of the 1970s. Hooper also directed the sequel, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, which was released in 1986. Two more sequels were made in 1990 and 1995, but Hooper was not involved in either.
