Recently, Guillermo del Toro, the director of "Hellboy" and "Pacific Rim", revealed several potential projects he is discussing with Netflix when participating in The Kingcast podcast, including an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' "The Count of Monte Cristo" and GF Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness". But director Guillermo stressed: "The script I wrote 15 years ago (with Matthew Robbins) is not the script I would do now, so I need to rewrite it, not only to reduce its scale in a certain way, but also because I was trying to connect its scale with certain scene elements of the studio at that time. Now I don’t have to compromise and can make a more interesting, unusual and weird version of "At the Mountains of Madness." At the Mountains of Madness is a science fiction horror novel by American author H.P. Lovecraft that details the disastrous events of an expedition to Antarctica led by Dr. William Dyer, a geologist at Miskatonic University, in September 1930. Throughout the story, Dyer details a series of previously unknown events in the hope of stopping another expedition that hopes to return to Antarctica. |
