Since its online debut earlier this month, the first trailer for the live-action "Detective Pikachu" movie has received unanimous praise from fans. The film will be released in theaters next summer and Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds will voice Pikachu. According to foreign media reports, Warner Bros. has higher considerations for the film's rating. The studio hopes to use a PG-13 rating to make the film, which is very different from the PG rating of most "Pokemon" animations, indicating that the tone of the film may be more mature, with more action content and even foul language. Despite the revelations, there is no evidence yet that Warner has rated the film PG-13, with industry websites Box Office Mojo and IMDB both marking the film as "not yet rated." Considering Ryan Reynolds' upcoming "Deadpool 2" will also be released on Christmas Warner is likely to take a similar approach when it releases a PG-13 rated version during this period. "Detective Pikachu" will be officially released on May 10, 2019. |
