Kojima, who has always been passionate about movies and television, is finally going to enter the film and television industry. Kojima Productions recently announced the establishment of a new department in Los Angeles, California, focusing on movies, television and music, responsible for bringing Kojima Productions' games to other pop culture areas. It is reported that the new team will be led by Riley Russel, who has worked at PlayStation for nearly 28 years and served as chief legal counsel and vice president of business. Russel said the newly established TV and music department will work with creative professionals from the film, television and music industries, as well as talents from the more familiar gaming industry. “The team’s goal is to expand the reach and visibility of the IPs that Kojima Productions is developing and make them part of our pop culture universe. While we are a global organization, the new business development team will be centralized in Los Angeles, California. We are really excited and look forward to working with the best entertainment talent from all across the entertainment industry.” |
