The Star Wars film Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, directed by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkin, has been postponed indefinitely. The film was originally scheduled to enter production in 2022, but is no longer in the production plan, resulting in an uncertain release date. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the reason for the delay is that Jenkin's current work schedule will not allow her to complete the film on time. In addition to writing and directing Wonder Woman 3, she is also producing Cleopatra, starring Gal Gadot. Patty Jenkin's Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie was announced at the 2020 Disney Investor Day event, but other than the director, the film's cast and story details were not disclosed. As Disney has focused its attention on spinoff series like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett in recent years, there haven't been any new Star Wars movies released in years. |
