"Saint Seiya" live-action movie starring Mackenyu Arata announced as Seiya

Recently, according to foreign media hollywoodreporter, the starring actors of the live-action movie of "Saint Seiya" have been announced. Mackenyu Arata ("Pacific Rim 2", "Rurouni Kenshin: The Final Chapter") will play Seiya, and Madison Iseman ("Jumanji: Welcome to the Next Generation", "Annabelle 3") will play Sienna (Athena-like character).

The live-action movie of "Saint Seiya" is produced by Japan's Toei Animation and Sony Pictures, and Sean Bean, Famke Janssen, Nick Stahl, Diego Tinoco, and Mark Dacascos will also star in it. Tomasz Baginski, a senior animator and special effects artist of "The Witcher", is the director, and Cheng Jizong, a member of the Cheng family team who participated in the new Marvel film "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", serves as the martial arts instructor.

The Saint Seiya live-action film was announced in 2017, and filming will begin this summer, with a release date of 2023. This is a new original story inspired by the classic Japanese manga by Masami Kurumada, telling the story of a mysterious power awakening in the body of a street orphan named Seiya, who dons the ancient Greek Pegasus armor and joins a supernatural war for the fate of Sienna, a girl struggling to control her own divine power.
