Tencent Video's "Sweeping Dark Storm" was accused of plagiarism! The production team responded

Recently, the TV series "Sweeping Dark Storm" starring Sun Honglei was exclusively broadcast on Tencent Video. It was loved by many viewers and its Douban score reached 7.5 points.

However, from its launch to now, "Sweeping Dark Storm" has been accompanied by controversy. For example, many netizens pointed out that even if you have purchased VIP, you still have to pay for on-demand viewing, and the rules are gradually unlocked, which they believe is very unreasonable.

Recently, some media reported that Cao Qi (pseudonym), a photographer from Anhui, posted a video saying that two sets of images in the time-lapse photography material of an old house he shot in his hometown in 2020 were suspected to be used in the opening of the hit TV series "Sweeping Dark Storm", and he had no idea about this before, which attracted the attention of many netizens.

Cao Qi said that the opening of "Sweeping Dark Storm" used two sets of his own pictures, the first set of pictures started from 0 seconds and lasted for 5 seconds, and the second set of pictures started from 25 seconds and lasted for 3 seconds, with a total length of 8 seconds for the two sets of pictures.

Compared with the material shot by Cao Qi, the opening credits of "Sweeping Dark Storm" were color-processed, changing the exposure and tone of the picture, but it can be clearly seen from the composition and scene that the picture is almost the same as the material uploaded by Cao Qi.

It is reported that Cao Qi found out about this incident after watching the drama on the recommendation of a friend. He has hired a lawyer to defend his rights and sent a lawyer's letter to the other party, and will file a civil lawsuit in court.

In response to this situation, Zhang Qunfeng, the post-production producer of the "Sweeping Dark Storm" crew, said that the opening and ending credits of the show were commissioned to a third-party film and television company. If there is any infringement, the company will coordinate with the photographer to handle it.
