Today, September 9, the illustrator of the manga version of "The Whispers of Drugstore Girls", Neko Umizuki (real name Ikeda Erika), updated her SNS, apologizing for the recent incident of evading a huge amount of income tax, and declared that she would continue to serve as the illustrator. In April this year, an investigation from the Fukuoka National Taxation Bureau showed that Erika Ikeda did not truthfully declare her personal income of up to 260 million yen, thus evading taxes of 47 million yen. In July, the court sentenced her to 10 months in prison, suspended for 3 years, and ordered her to pay the outstanding taxes in addition to a fine of 11 million yen. Correct your mistakes as soon as you know them? Fortunately, what reassures fans is that I have officially announced that I will continue to be the painter of "The Whisper of the Drugstore Girl". I said that I have deeply reflected on the crime of tax evasion and will never commit it again. I thank the fans for their support and will do my best to complete the painting work in the future. |
