Kyoto Animation announced today on July 27 that the Blu-ray disc of its original fantasy animation series "MUNTO", which spanned several years since 2003, will be released on December 22. At the same time, the CM promotional video was released. Let's take a look back.

"MUNTO" (The World in the Eyes of a Girl Looking Up at the Sky) is a series of fantasy-style OVA animations released by Kyoto Animation in 2003. As the first original work of Kyoto Animation, the first part of "MUNTO" won praise for its grand world view and delicate lens performance. Although it was not particularly successful commercially, its production level was enough to make most OVAs of the same period pale in comparison.

In 2005, Kyoto Animation brought the second part of "MUNTO" "MUNTO: The Wall of Time and Space". "The Wall of Time and Space" continues the plot of the previous work and adds the power struggle in the heavenly world. In 2009, the third part of "MUNTO" originally planned to be produced was changed to a TV animation with a total of 9 episodes.

The "MUNTO" Blu-ray Disc will include all 9 episodes of "The World in the Eyes of a Girl Who Looks Up at the Sky" and the animated film "The Last Battle between Celestial Beings and Acto-People", which will be remastered in HD quality. It will also include the audio bonus "WEB Radio Station" and the video bonus, as well as several precious promotional documents.
