The director of Space Jam 1 watched the film in five sessions and received many criticisms

Joe Pytka, the director of the 1996 version of "Space Jam", recently watched the new film in the series "Space Jam: A New Legacy". In an interview with TMZ, he talked a lot about his insights on the film, but there were few positive comments in his words.

Director Joe Pytka reportedly found The New Legend so boring that he had to watch the two-hour film in five parts, and he pointed out many problems with the film.

First, there's the casting issue. Pytka said: "When my Space Jam was released in theaters, Michael Jordan was a world celebrity at the time, and LeBron James in this film, although an accomplished athlete, is actually not as well-known as Jordan, and A New Legacy doesn't incorporate details of LeBron's own life into the film like I did in my film."

However, the above criticisms are not the most serious. The most severe criticism is about the character of Bugs Bunny. Pytka said: "The Bugs Bunny in New Legends is like the stuffed toy you buy for your child at the airport gift shop because you are on a business trip for too long. I tried my best to restore the personality of Bugs Bunny in the 1996 version of Space Jam, and the Bugs Bunny in New Legends really disappoints me."

However, TMZ media also pointed out that director Joe Pytka's "Space Jam" was also criticized by critics at the time. Currently, "Space Jam" has a 44% Rotten Tomatoes freshness and a 63% popcorn index, while "Space Jam: A New Legacy" has a 28% Rotten Tomatoes freshness and an 80% popcorn index. This shows that there are big differences in the opinions of film critics and audiences about the series.
