"Mashin Hero Wataru: A Tale of Endless Time": A new adventure for a hero who transcends time

Mashin Hero Wataru: The Tale of Owari Naki Toki was released as an OVA in 1993 and is a sequel to the Mashin Hero Wataru series produced by Sunrise. It was written by Yatate Hajime, directed by Iuchi Shuji, with character design and general animation director Ashida Toyoo and mecha design by Nakazawa Kazunobu. This is a long-awaited new story for fans of the series, depicting Wataru's new adventures.

story

The story begins with Wataru's life some time after the events at Seikaizan. Having been promoted to the fifth grade, Wataru was living a peaceful life, but the image of the collapse of Soukaizan kept coming to his mind and he wasn't feeling too great. Meanwhile, Wataru meets a mysterious old man who tells him the legend of the cherry blossoms at Ryujin Pond. This cherry blossom is said to be the incarnation of a dragon, and it hasn't bloomed in the last few years. This is because there are fewer children to protect the dragon god. In the "Land of Heaven," there was a clan that tamed dragons and controlled them freely, but eventually, a member of the clan appeared who lived on earth, and the first boy born in each generation was given the role of protecting the dragon god. The child was named "Adaru" and was a being with eternal life. Adaru was able to go to the "Land of God" with his "faith" and "big dreams" as wings. His descendants are still somewhere in this world. The old man gazed at the magatama at the end of the fishing line he was holding and muttered, "My dreams have become so small, I can never go again."

On the night when the cherry blossoms, which should never bloom, were in full bloom, Wataru reunites with Torao at Ryujin Pond. It seems that a new evil hand is approaching Soukaiyama. Riding Torao's Pegasus, Wataru once again steps into Soukaiyama. Will he be able to restore peace to Soukaiyama from the approaching evil hand?
