Go! Gedo Otometai - Go! Gedo Otometai - Reviews and Recommendations

"Go! Gedou Otome Tai" is an original anime work that was broadcast in 2005, written by Satoru Akahori and directed by Hitoyuki Matsui. This is a comedy anime that depicts the struggles of five sisters who aim to become an evil organization, and it stands out for its unique humor and the charm of its characters. Below, we will provide a detailed review and recommendation of this work.

Story and Themes

The story of "Go! Evil Maidens" is about five sisters of the Kitaka family who lose their parents and follow their father's will to become "good evil". They call themselves "Evil Maidens" and try to do evil deeds using magic, but they struggle with how to use magic properly and don't really understand what "evil" means. Then they meet the demon Akumako and start working as evil magical girls under her guidance.

The theme of this work is the difficulty of being "evil" and family ties. Although the sisters aim to be "evil," they are honest and kind at heart, which prevents them from doing evil and there are many scenes in which they end up helping those around them. Also, the way the sisters support each other after losing their parents makes us feel the strength of family ties.

character

Each character in this work is unique and leaves a strong impression on the viewer. The eldest sister, Kitahana Onoko, is a kind-hearted leader of the sisters who supports her family, and is depicted working many part-time jobs. The second sister, Kitahana Meika, is a small girl with glasses who is a mysterious character who doesn't talk much and whose thoughts are hard to understand. The third sister, Kitahana Tsubasa, is a lively but clumsy girl who loves bananas, which is a unique setting. The fourth sister, Kitahana Kanako, is a beautiful girl with a shy personality who doesn't like to stand out. The fifth sister, Kitahana Shino, is a young and lively character who is like a mascot for the sisters. The demon Akumako also appears as a leader who leads the sisters to become good evil, and her goals and actions add depth to the story.

Animation and Music

The animation is produced by RADIX, with character design by Ishino Satoshi and concept design by Saito Hisashi. The animation is drawn with a bright touch that emphasizes the comedic elements, and the characters' expressions and movements are rich, making it a visual treat. Yamamoto Harukichi is in charge of the music, and the theme song "Netsuuta!! Lovege Night Fever" and the ending theme "Tondol Baby" were written and composed by Momoi Haruko. The opening theme in particular is sung by the luxurious members Love Pheromone & Gedo Otome Tai featuring Momoi Haruko & Kageyama Hironobu, which really livens up the atmosphere of the work.

Episodes and subtitles

The series is made up of 13 episodes, each with a unique subtitle. For example, the first episode, "Operation Rain, Rain, Rain!", depicts a comedy in which the sisters try to commit a crime by using magic to make it rain, but end up helping the people of the town instead. The fifth episode, "Industry in an Uproar! Operation Voice Actors' Debut," depicts the sisters' efforts to make their debut as voice actors, and offers a humorous look behind the scenes of the industry. While each episode has its own independent story, the sisters' growth and bond are depicted throughout the series, making it well worth watching.
