Review and Recommendation

"20th Anniversary Ah! My Goddess: Fighting Wings" is a TV special produced to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the serialization of Kosuke Fujishima's popular comic "Ah! My Goddess." It is a complete animated version of the series' biggest action episode, "Angel Eater Arc." This work was broadcast on TBS on December 9, 2007, and on BS-i for two weeks from December 13 to 20, 2007. It consists of two episodes with a broadcast time of 60 minutes, and in order to bring out the charm of the original work to the fullest, director Hiroaki Goda and the rest of the staff worked together to produce it.

The story begins when Lind, nicknamed "Fighting Wings", descends before Morizato Keiichi and his friends, who are living their ordinary lives. When the Angel Eater, a ferocious mythical beast sealed away in the heavens, is stolen, the goddesses are defeated one by one, and a tense development unfolds. In particular, the scene in which Verdandy is defeated and turned into a demon left a strong impression on viewers. The shadow of Hild, lurking behind the events, also adds depth to the story. Keiichi and his friends' struggle to save their loved ones continues in a moving yet thrilling manner, making this a work well worth watching.

The charm of this work lies above all in the individuality and growth of its characters. The protagonist, Morisato Keiichi, is a naturally kind-hearted person who cannot help but see people in trouble, and his positive personality drives the story. Verdandy is not only a goddess, but is also a perfect being who handles all household chores perfectly, and as her relationship with Keiichi deepens, her humanity becomes even more apparent. The sisters Urd and Skuld also each have their own distinct personalities, adding color to Keiichi and Belldandy's lives. Peos' narcissistic personality and Lind's fighting ability are also not to be missed. The drama woven by these characters has the power to draw viewers in.

The cast is also impressive, with Masami Kikuchi as Morisato Keiichi, Kikuko Inoue as Belldandy, Yumi Touma as Urd, Aya Hisakawa as Skuld, Rei Sakuma as Peios, and Miki Ito as Lindo, all of whom add excitement to the story. In particular, Kikuko Inoue's performance in the scene where Belldandy is transformed into a demon moved the hearts of viewers. In addition, the opening theme "Star of Love" and the ending theme "Hanamuke's Melody" feature the voices of Jukai, further enhancing the worldview of the story.

The production staff is also top-notch, with a stellar lineup including director Goda Hiroaki, series composers Goda Hiroaki and Watanabe Akira, character designer Matsubara Hidenori, art director Kato Hiroshi, colorist Matsuyama Aiko, composite director Kato Tomoyoshi, editor Miyama Shota, music composer Hamaguchi Shiro, sound director Iwanami Miwa, sound production by HALF H・P STUDIO, producers Tanaka Go, Oikawa Yoko, Kanba Kozue, Terada Chiaki, animation by AIC, production collaborations with Bandai Visual, Kodansha, Movic, Memory Tech, and production by Genjuu Kenkyusho and TBS. This work, produced by this team of staff, brings out the best of the original work and leaves a lasting impression on viewers.

"20th Anniversary Ah! My Goddess: The Fighting Wings" is recommended not only for fans of the original work, but also for those who like action and drama. It is especially perfect for those who want to enjoy the growth of the characters and the deepening of their relationships. Also, don't miss the high-quality production by the gorgeous cast and staff. Be sure to watch this work and experience the adventure and growth of Keiichi and his friends.
