■ Main Characters

  • Koyomi Morishita is a high school freshman who looks like an elementary school student when wearing casual clothes and is so clumsy that she falls over for no reason. She has a slightly off-kilter sense (extremely air-headed), as she decides to learn magic based on a suspicious straw paper flyer.
  • Anehara Misasagi is a beautiful woman with jet black eyes, waist-length black hair, white skin and a strikingly beautiful appearance. However, she is extremely nearsighted. She is the leader of modern magic, having revived the magical techniques of her great-grandfather, who was a wizard, and is one of the strongest wizards currently in existence.
  • Yumiko Ichinose Christina A beautiful girl of the same age as Koyomi, with silver hair, amethyst eyes, long white legs, and an unreasonably large chest. Her great-grandfather was a genius exorcist in Europe, and she is a user of classical magic who inherited his talent. She speaks arrogantly.
  • Kaho Sakazaki is the class representative of Koyomi's class. She is good at science, especially machines, and is also knowledgeable about computers. She didn't believe in magic or supernatural phenomena, but after becoming involved in a magic-related incident, she began learning modern magic programming.
  • The younger brother of Anehara Satoshirō Misasagi. It seems that he did not inherit the Anehara family's talent as magicians, but inherited his mother's talent for "good cooking" and "general housekeeping." Since he does not believe in magic, he is suspicious of his sister and the events surrounding her, calling them "tricks."

Koyomi is an appealing character with her clumsy and naive personality. Her growth and efforts resonate with the viewer. As a leading expert in modern magic, Misari is impressive for the way she makes full use of her knowledge and skills. Her weakness of being extremely nearsighted also makes her seem more human. Yumiko Christina, a user of classical magic, has a presence that contrasts with Koyomi. Her haughty attitude and passion for magic add excitement to the story. Kaho is an intriguing science student who explores the boundaries between magic and science. Soshiro is a realist who does not believe in magic, and is contrasted with his sister Misari. His talents in cooking and housekeeping also add humor to the story.

Animation and performance

NOMAD, the animation studio, is particular about the character designs and drawings. In particular, the scenes where magic is used make full use of CG and special effects to enhance the visual impact. Another notable feature is the use of digital subtitles and CG works that reflect the concept of modern magic. These production techniques visually express the theme of the story and deepen the viewer's understanding.

Music and theme song

The opening theme "programming for non-fiction" leaves an impression with Aso Natsuko's powerful singing voice and a rhythm that matches the theme of modern magic. The ending theme "Made in WONDER" features Misato Aki's gentle singing voice, enhancing the warmth of the story. These songs not only add to the atmosphere of the story, but are also important elements that arouse the emotions of the viewer.
