story

The story of "Goyou the Snatcher" begins when Akitsu Masanosuke, a timid and shy man who became a ronin (masterless samurai), leaves the countryside and comes to Edo. One day, he meets a playboy-like man named Yaichi and is hired as his bodyguard. However, Yaichi, whom Masanosuke must protect, is actually a member of "Goyou," a group of thieves who make a living by kidnapping people. Masanosuke's swordsmanship is recognized, and he is recruited as a member of "Goyou." "Goyou" is made up of unique members, and Masanosuke grows as a person as he works with them.

character

The charm of "Saraiya Goyou" is, above all, its unique characters. The main characters are introduced below.

Masanosuke Akitsu

Voice actor: Daisuke Namikawa

He is a member of the "Goyou" gang, and is a fairly tall, hunched-backed ronin. Due to his problematic personality, he becomes nervous when in front of people, and was dismissed by the feudal lord, so he came to Edo with the aim of re-entering the government. Yaichi recognizes his swordsmanship and he joins the "Goyou".

Yaichi

Voice actor: Takahiro Sakurai

He is the head of the Goyou gang, and although he has a playboy appearance and is popular with the ladies, he is a man of mystery, and no one knows what is hiding deep in his heart. He brings Masanosuke into the Goyou gang and looks after him in many ways, but he doesn't like to talk much about his own past.

Otake

Voice actor: Fuuka Oura

She is the only female member of "Goyou", a mysterious and seductive beauty. She is an old friend of Yaichi, and is an avid drinker. Men are always fond of her. She named her group "Goyou" after the maple leaf.

Umezo

Voice actor: Masaya Takatsuka

He is a member of the "Goyou" gang, and is a large man with a shaved head. He used to be a thief, but he quit for the sake of his daughter and became the owner of the tavern where the "Goyou" gather. He has a bad mouth, but is kind at heart. The formation of the "Goyou" began when Okinu was almost molested by the second son of the place where she was employed as a maid.

Matsukichi

Voice actor: Yuya Uchida

He is a member of the "Goyou" gang and a taciturn decorator. He used to be a thief who worked alone, but when he was about to be caught while he was still a thief, Yaichi saved him, and he has absolute trust in Yaichi. He is a man of great loyalty who will always repay any kindness he receives, and in the "Goyou" gang, he serves as a spy.

Yagi Heizaemon

Voice actor: Hiroyuki Kinoshita

He is a samurai who appears before Masanosuke from time to time. As he exchanges words with Masanosuke, he becomes interested in the samurai's unusual behavior and actions, and the two of them become closer friends.

Silk

Voice actor: Aoi Takahashi

She is Umezo's daughter and the kindhearted poster girl for the izakaya that Umezo runs. She lost her mother at a young age and lives with Umezo. She knows the true identity of "Goyou".

Retirement

Voice actor: Katsutoshi Houki

An old man living in the suburbs, he is not an official member of the Goyou, but he helps the Goyou by providing a place to hold hostages. He was the leader of the bandit group that Umezo was in, and Umezo admires him for helping him escape from the bandit group.
