Comprehensive evaluation and recommendation of Mitsuboshi Colors

Mitsuboshi Colors is a 2018 anime TV series based on the manga by Katsuwo. The anime was produced by SILVER LINK. and directed by Kawamura Tomoyuki. It aired from January 7 to March 25, 2018, with a total of 12 episodes on AT-X and BS11. Each episode was 30 minutes long and aired every Sunday at 10:30pm.

The story depicts the exploits of the justice organization "Colors," based in a suspicious hut quietly standing in a park in Ueno. The leader Yui, Sacchan, and Kotonoha are all elementary school students, but they struggle to protect the peace of the town. One day, Yui sees a panda-like cat, and the three begin a mission to capture it. Furthermore, they learn from Saito that the cat is involved in a theft case, and the story revolves around whether they can complete the mission safely and protect the peace of the town.

The charm of this anime lies in the personalities of the three main characters and their comedic elements. Yui is a crybaby and a scary leader when she gets angry, Sacchan is the daughter of a fruit and vegetable store in Ameyoko and has a crazy personality, and Kotonoha is a character who always plays games and has dangerous thoughts. The humorous episodes woven by these characters entertain viewers. Other attractions include episodes depicting interactions with the people of the town and seasonal events.

The cast is also impressive, with Takada Yuuki as Yui, Takanashi Marika as Sacchan, and Hioka Natsumi as Kotonoha. Many other veteran voice actors also participated, including Tamaru Atsushi as Saito, Genda Tesshō as the father, Nazuka Kaori as Sacchan's mother, Asai Ayaka as Nonoka, and Tojo Hisako as Momoka. The performances of these voice actors further bring out the individuality of the characters.

The main staff is also impressive, with the screenplay by Yasukawa Shogo, character design by Yokota Takumi, art direction by Lee Bonsun, color design by Mizumoto Shiho, 3D direction by Tengu Kobo, cinematography by Sato Atsushi, editing by Kondo Yuji, music by Michiru, sound director by Tsuchiya Masaki, sound effects by Yamada Kaori, sound adjustment by Tsunekawa Souichi, and sound production by Groove. The work created by this team of staff boasts extremely high quality both visually and aurally.

The subtitles of each episode are also unique, starting with episode 1 "Colors," followed by episode 2 "Hide and Seek," episode 3 "Chukaburu," episode 4 "Summer Festival," episode 5 "Zoo," episode 6 "Weakness Search Meeting," episode 7 "Trick or Treat!", episode 8 "Zoo," episode 9 "One Coin Sachiko," episode 10 "Too Much Snow," episode 11 "Hyper Hide and Seek," and episode 12 "Colors, the City, and People." These subtitles also show that the content of each episode is diverse.

A related work is "Mitsuboshi Colors: Search for Colonel Monochrome!" This is a spin-off of the original manga, also created by Katsuwo. You can enjoy the exploits of the Colors from a different perspective than the main anime.

The theme songs are also memorable. The opening theme "Leave it to Colors Power!" has lyrics by Hata Aki, music and arrangement by Saito Shinji, and is sung by Colors☆Slash (Takada Yuuki as Yui, Takano Marika as Sacchan, and Hioka Natsumi as Kotonoha). The ending theme "Miracle Colors☆No Abnormality Today!" has lyrics by Kodama Saori, music and arrangement by Hanazabu, and is also sung by Colors☆Slash. These songs are important elements that add to the atmosphere of the anime.
