According to data from Lighthouse Professional Edition, as of 21:00 on August 31, the 2024 Chinese mainland summer movie season ended with a box office of 11.64 billion yuan, and the film "Catching Dolls" won the 2024 summer box office champion.

"Alien: Revenge" reached 640 million yuan in the summer box office, becoming the box office champion of imported films in the 2024 summer season.

Among the top 10 box office films in the 2024 summer season, four imported films as well as "Reverse Life" and "The Decoded" have a prominent share of the box office in first-tier cities.

Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen are the top three cities in terms of box office revenue. The box office share of first-tier cities, third-tier cities as well as East China, North China and Northeast China has increased.
