Popular animation "Made in Abyss" will be remade into a live-action version by Hollywood

According to foreign media Collider, the popular Japanese animation "Made in Abyss" will be remade into a live-action movie by Hollywood and is currently in early development by Sony Columbia Pictures.

Made in Abyss was originally a manga created by Akito Tsuchi, telling the story of adventurers exploring the large cave "Abyss". It has been adapted into a TV animation and a theatrical version. The Hollywood live-action version is produced by Roy Lee and "Heroes" actor Masahiro Oka, and adapted by Kevin McMullin, the director of "Low Tide".

Made in Abyss tells the story of the only remaining secret in a world where every corner has been explored - the great cave "Abyss". The huge vertical cave, which is bottomless and extends to who knows where, is inhabited by strange creatures and contains precious relics that cannot be made by modern humans. The mysterious appearance of "Abyss" attracts people and drives them to adventure. In this way, adventurers who have challenged the great cave many times have been named "cave explorers" one after another.
