The previously announced short animation "Uzumaki", the long-form representative work of Japanese horror manga master Junji Ito, has been scheduled to be broadcast in October 2022. Today, on June 16, the official released a new trailer, bringing the latest message from director Hiroshi Nagahama and part of the content of the first episode. Let's take a sneak peek.

"Uzumaki" is one of the long representative works of Japanese horror manga master Junji Ito. The story begins when the protagonist, a beautiful high school girl named Kirie Goto, and her boyfriend, Shuichi Saito, return to the town of Kurozu from the school in the neighboring town. Various strange things begin to spread to everyone in the town, and the curse of the vortex spreads throughout the town of Kurozu...

The animation of "Uzumaki" is directed by Hiroshi Nagahama ("Mushi-shi") and produced by Production IG, which has produced "Ghost in the Shell" and "Psycho-Pass". It is scheduled to be broadcast on Toonami in October 2022.
