Some cinemas have implemented ticket price zones: different ticket prices for different viewing locations

According to Beijing Youth Daily today (June 8), some cinemas in Beijing have begun to implement a "price zone" system. Taking "Fast and Furious 9" as an example, the seats in the golden area of ​​the IMAX hall of a certain cinema are 20 yuan more expensive than the ordinary seats. The ticket prices for the same movie are different due to different "seats".

At present, there are not many cinemas in Beijing that implement "price zoning". The relevant cinemas of UME Cinema, Hengdian Wangfujing Branch, some theaters of Yaolai Jackie Chan, and Wanda Cinema have implemented this plan. The ticket price of Yaolai Jackie Chan's best viewing area is 3 yuan higher than other areas, and the ticket price of Wanda Cinema is 2 yuan higher.

As early as the end of 2019, some theaters in Beijing had already started selling tickets in different areas. However, since the difference in ticket prices was not big, mostly 1 or 2 yuan, the audience did not care too much. Now that the epidemic has been brought under control, many people have returned to the theaters, only to find that they have to pay for the "golden area", and there is a trend of price increases.

A cinema manager said that there is no need for ticket pricing zones, because most cinemas now have multiple halls, the average attendance is not high, the screens and sound systems are very advanced, and there will not be a bias. There is not much point in implementing ticket pricing zones, unless your seat hardware measures are significantly improved, so that the audience will be willing to pay more.
