Recently, Japanese voice actor agency Mausu Promotion issued an obituary, announcing that the well-known voice actor Atsuko Tanaka died of illness on August 20, 2024 at the age of 61.

Atsuko Tanaka, who has voiced characters such as Kusanagi Motoko, the protagonist of the "Ghost in the Shell" animation series, Konan in "Naruto", Kiyama Haruo in "A Scientific Railgun", and Bayonetta, the protagonist of "Bayonetta", is familiar to audiences and players for her unique voice.

In addition to the obituary released by the agency, Tanaka Atsuko's son Tanaka Hikaru also announced the unfortunate news on his personal Twitter, and explained that his mother spent a year in treatment after contracting the disease (due to personal wishes, the cause of the disease cannot be disclosed). Tanaka Atsuko herself also faced life positively, and had a humorous attitude while fighting the disease.

In response to this, Hikaru Tanaka expressed that he felt very happy to have a mother like Atsuko Tanaka, whom he was proud of.
