Director Zack Snyder: A black Superman movie should have come a long time ago

We have previously reported that the "Superman" movie will be rebooted, with a black protagonist, telling the story of Superman "Kal-El" arriving on Earth from Krypton. The movie will exist independently from other DC movies and will not be part of the existing universe. Ta-Nehisi Coates will serve as the screenwriter and JJ.Abrams will serve as the producer. Warner Bros. also wants to find a black director to direct this reboot movie, and black actor Michael B. Jordan may star in it.

Recently, "Justice League" director Zack Snyder praised the decision to let a black actor play the protagonist of the "Superman" reboot movie when attending an event. He said: "I am very interested in the new live-action DC hero. I like JJ.Abrams and I like what he has done in the past. I am very interested in seeing what will happen. This is a bold and cool move. Maybe the black version of Superman should have appeared earlier. Of course, I prefer Henry Cavill's Superman because he is my Superman."

Zack Snyder also said: "I'm not really involved in any decision-making at Warner Bros., so for me, I can only wait and see. I want to see what they will do and how they will show it. But on the surface, this movie seems to be very interesting."

Although we haven't seen a black version of Superman on the screen yet, black versions of Superman have long existed in DC comics, such as Val-Zod from Earth-Two and Calvin Ellis from Earth 23, both of whom are relatively well-known black versions of Superman.
