Zhang Yimou's new spy film "On the Cliff" is scheduled to be released on April 30

Today (March 23), Zhang Yimou's new spy film "On the Cliff" released a release trailer & poster, and is scheduled to be released nationwide on April 30, with advance screenings on April 18, 24 and 29. Starring Zhang Yi, Yu Hewei, Qin Hailu, Zhu Yawen, Liu Haocun, Ni Dahong, Li Naiwen, Yu Ailei, Zhou Xiaofan, Lei Jiayin, Sha Yi and others.

The film "On the Cliff" was directed by Zhang Yimou and written by Quan Yongxian. It started shooting in Heilongjiang Xuexiang in December 2019. The film is set in the puppet Manchukuo in the 1930s. It tells the story of four Communist agents who had received special training in the Soviet Union and formed a task force to return to China to carry out a secret operation code-named "Utra". Due to the betrayal of a traitor, they were caught in the enemy's trap from the first moment they parachuted down. Whether the comrades can get away and whether the mission can be completed, the snow keeps falling, and the action team standing on the "cliff" faces severe tests.
