Netflix Japan announced today on March 9 that the new animation "Yasuke", based on the legendary black samurai Yasuke in Japanese history, will be exclusively broadcast online on April 29. Stay tuned.

First, let's learn about Yasuke. He was not the only African black man who arrived in Japan during the Warring States Period, but he was the most legendary one. Many scholars in later generations speculated on why Yasuke was loved by Oda Nobunaga. He appeared in Oda's family banquet and ate at the table. The latter even expressed his willingness to appoint him as the lord of the city.

Netflix's new animation "Yasuke" will be produced by MAPPA, with a total of 6 episodes, reconstructing and reinterpreting the prototype character Yasuke, so stay tuned.
