"Detective Chinatown 3" box office exceeded 2.2 billion, setting a record for domestic films in a single week

Today (February 14), the official Weibo account of "Detective Chinatown 3" announced that 40 hours after the film was released, the box office of "Detective Chinatown 3" exceeded 2.2 billion yuan, and the official also released four box office celebration posters.

According to Maoyan data, "Detective Chinatown 3" broke the single-week box office record for domestic films. At 00:57:35 on February 14, the total box office of "Detective Chinatown 3" exceeded 2.2 billion, becoming the 22nd 2 billion box office movie in Chinese film history, and also broke two records: the fastest 2 billion box office record in Chinese film history and the single-week box office record for domestic films, which was previously held by "Wolf Warrior 2" with a single-week box office of 2.171 billion. As of press time, the total box office of the 2021 Spring Festival films has reached 3.85 billion.

It is understood that "Detective Chinatown 3" was originally scheduled to be released on the first day of the Lunar New Year in 2020, but was postponed due to the impact of the epidemic. Many movies in the same period were released in theaters last year, but "Detective Chinatown 3" has not been released yet, and it still sticks to the Spring Festival schedule of the new year.
