The live-action version of The Last of Us releases a new character, Ellie's childhood friend Abel

HBO's live-action TV series "The Last of Us" announced a new character today, with American post-00s actor Storm Reid joining the cast to play Riley Abel. This character appeared in the first DLC "Left Behind" of the game of the same name and is Ellie's childhood friend. The series is expected to be completed in June this year, with a total of 10 episodes in the first season, each episode lasting about 1 hour, and the broadcast time is yet to be determined. The film is adapted from the video game of the same name, and is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin of "Chernobyl" and Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog.

Storm Reid was born on July 1, 2003 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He is an American actor. His representative works include "A Wrinkle in Time" and "The Invisible Man".

The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization was destroyed by a deadly virus. A tenacious survivor, Joel (Pedro Pascal), is hired to smuggle a 14-year-old girl, Ellie (Bella Ramsey), from a repressive quarantine zone to the Firefly organization, which is looking for a cure for the virus. What starts as a small job quickly turns into a brutal, heartbreaking journey as they all have to travel through the post-apocalyptic United States and rely on each other to survive. Riley Abel is an orphan who grew up in post-apocalyptic Boston and survives with her best friend, Ellie, by her side and encouragement before she reunites with Joel.
