Netflix first raised its membership price to $8.99 in 2014, and has since increased its price by $1 or $2 roughly every two years.

Netflix told Reuters that the price change was made “in order to continue to offer a broad, high-quality entertainment offering. As always, we offer a range of plans so members can choose the plan that best suits their budget.”
