Blade Screenwriter Confirmed as Marvel Movie's First Black Female Screenwriter

According to foreign media THR, Marvel's new version of "Blade" movie has found a screenwriter. Stacy Osei-Kuffour, who was responsible for the script writing in HBO's acclaimed limited series "Watchmen", took over the job. She will become the first black female writer to write a script for a Marvel movie.

Mahershala Ali, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his outstanding performance in "Green Book", will play the superhero Blade.

It is reported that Marvel spent six months looking for a suitable screenwriter, and Mahershala Ali was directly involved. THR reported that only black writers were seriously considered, which reflects Marvel's focus on diversity and regards representation as a key consideration-especially when dealing with non-white characters.

Blade is a superhero in the American Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Dracula's Tomb No. 10 (July 1973) and was co-created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan. His real name is Eric Brooks. Because his mother Miriam was bitten by the vampire Deacon Frost when she was about to give birth to him and died after he was born, he has half-human and half-vampire bloodline and became a vampire hunter when he grew up.

As for how the story of the new version of "Blade" will unfold, please wait and see.
