The light novel "The Country Uncle Becomes a Sword Saint" (full name "The Country Uncle Becomes a Sword Saint ~ I'm just a country swordsman, but my disciples who have become great won't let me go ~"), written by Japanese light novel writer Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by illustrator Tetsuhiro Nabeshima, was first serialized on Square Enix's SQEX Novel platform in 2020, and cumulative sales have exceeded 5.5 million copies.

Recently, the official announced the news that this work will be animated and released the first promotional trailer PV, which is expected to be broadcast in April 2025.

It is understood that the animation will be jointly produced by Passione and HAYABUSA FILM, directed by Rosei Kazumi, Kunihiko Okada will be responsible for the series composition, Satsuki Hayasaka will be in charge of character design and general animation supervision, and the music will be composed by Koji Takanashi.
