Netflix series Resident Evil director hopes his wife can appear in the future

The first season of Netflix's Resident Evil live-action adaptation is now available, and showrunner Andrew Dabb shared what's next for the show in a new interview with Polygon. Among the possible highlights of the show's future, fan-favorite character Madame Dimitrescu from 2021's Resident Evil: Village could end up appearing in the series.

"Over the course of the show, I wanted to bring in everything from the game," Dabb said. "Just my own take on it. I want Madame D, I want plant monsters, I want everything... but in a responsible way as it goes along."

This statement is clearly a response to the poor reviews Netflix has received for the series, especially the criticism it has faced for using classic plots from the games as backstory. This means that, as Dabb told GameSpot earlier this month: "From the latest game on, things are going to be different. We're going in our own direction, and the games are going in their direction... Capcom has their own plans for the game and their own plans for the story. These events provide us with the backstory."
