Today (December 30), the official Weibo of Hayao Miyazaki's film "Ponyo on the Cliff" (Ponyo on the Cliff) released a handwritten letter from Hayao Miyazaki in Chinese. The film will be released in China tomorrow (December 31).

"Ponyo on the Cliff" is a feature-length animated film produced by Studio Ghibli, directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki, and voiced by Yuria Nara, Tomoko Yamaguchi, and Kazushige Nagashima. It premiered in Japan on July 19, 2008. The film tells the story of Ponyo, a mermaid who wants to become a human in the deep sea, and Sosuke, a human boy.

Ponyo on the Cliff is a purely hand-painted film with over 170,000 hand-painted manuscripts, making it the film with the largest number of drawings by Hayao Miyazaki. It won the 2008 Japan Box Office Championship.
