Comic Market is Japan's largest doujinshi sale, also known as doujinshi exhibition. It started in 1975 and is now growing rapidly. Participants in the doujinshi community (whether individuals or doujinshi groups) directly sell their doujinshi and communicate with readers. In addition to books, doujinshi-created software, music CDs, lyrics, etc. may also be sold or released at the venue. At the same time, there may also be popular culture activities closely related to animation and comics in the sale venue, such as Cosplay or doll decoration.

On December 21, 1975, the first Comic Market was held in the conference room of the Japan Fire Hall in Tokyo.
