It is reported that Venom will be released in mainland China in November, and the media and audiences have polarized opinions

According to online rumors, Sony's comic book superhero movie Venom is expected to hit the mainland on November 2. This news has not yet been confirmed by the film company. The film was released in North America last weekend and grossed $80 million in its first weekend, significantly breaking the record for the best first weekend box office in North American film history in October.

Venom is the first spin-off movie of the Spider-Man movie universe created by Sony. It will briefly tell the audience the origin story of Venom, the classic villain of the Spider-Man series. The film's North American box office on the first day was as high as 32.3 million US dollars, surpassing Marvel hero origin movies such as Captain America ($25.7 million), Ant-Man ($22.64 million), and Thor ($25.48 million).

Film scholar Yu Yong, who has confirmed the release dates of imported films many times in advance, revealed the release date of Venom.

In addition to the box office success, "Venom" once again witnessed the polarization of tastes among critics and audiences. Although the film received poor reviews from the media on Rotten Tomatoes (31% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average score of 4.5 on a 10-point scale), audience reviews have been rising since its release. The Rotten Tomatoes popcorn index rated by netizens is currently 89%, with an average score of 4.5 on a 5-point scale, which is higher than "Deadpool 2" (85%), "Thor 3" (87%), and "Doctor Strange" (86%) .

"Venom: Let There Be Carnage" is directed by Ruben Fleischer and co-starred by Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Dunkirk), Michelle Williams (The Greatest Showman), Riz Ahmed (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Scott Haze and Reid Scott. It will be released in North America on October 5.
