The American TV series "The Last of Us" has officially been booked, and Naughty Dog Neil and others will serve as directors

HBO Executive Vice President Francesca Orsi announced today that HBO has officially booked the American TV series "The LAST OF US", which will be directed by "Chernobyl" producer Craig Mazin, "Game of Thrones" producer Caroline Strauss and "The Last of Us 2" director Neil Druckmann. Executive producers also include Naughty Dog CEO and producers from Sony's own production company PlayStation Productions.

“Craig and Neil are visionaries in their fields. With them and Caroline Strauss at the helm, this series is sure to resonate with fans of The Last of Us and new audiences alike,” said Francesca Orsi. “We’re thrilled to be working with Naughty Dog, Word Games, Sony and PlayStation to adapt this epic and immersive story.”

Based on the critically acclaimed video game The Last of Us developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation platform, the series takes place 20 years after the destruction of modern civilization. Joel is an experienced survivor who is hired to smuggle a 14-year-old girl, Ellie, out of a repressive quarantine zone. What started out as a small job quickly turns into a brutal, heartbreaking journey as they must cross the United States and rely on each other to survive.

The Last of Us will be available to stream on HBO and HBO Max.
