Production company Paramount recently announced that it has canceled the renewal of the live-action series adapted from the game "Halo" on its streaming platform Paramount+ after the second season. In a statement from Paramount+, first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the company wrote: "We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and grateful to our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Ambilin Television, as well as showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, the other executive producers, and the entire cast, led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, and the rest of the crew for their incredible work. We wish everyone the best for the future." According to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, Xbox and 343i are exploring possible other channels to launch the third season of the series. "We are deeply grateful to the millions of fans who have driven the global success of the Halo franchise, and we remain committed to expanding the Halo universe in many ways in the future," developer 343 Industries wrote in a statement. "We are grateful to Amblin and Paramount for their partnership in bringing our expansive sci-fi universe to audiences around the world." The TV series "Halo" received mixed reviews from the audience. In addition to the fact that the plot was completely different from the original novel, the extremely high production budget of the series was not well reflected in the special effects and design, resulting in poor ratings in the first season. However, the ratings increased slightly in the second season - but this obviously cannot justify its budget of tens of millions of dollars per episode. |
