The Borderlands movie will be directed by Eli Ross and will be released in North America on August 9. "Big Devil" Cate Blanchett plays "Witch" Lilith, Kevin Hart plays Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis plays Dr. Tanis, Jack Black voices the robot Little Noisy, Ariana Greenblatt plays Little Tina, Big Nasty plays Little Tina's protector Krieg, Olivier Richters plays the villain Chrom, Edgar Ramirez plays the villain Atlas, Shane Jackson plays Jacobs, and Janina Gavankar plays the new character Commander Knox.

The movie "Borderlands" tells the story of Lilith, who has a mysterious past and reluctantly returns to her home planet Pandora to search for her missing daughter for Atlas, the most powerful man in the universe. She forms alliances with unexpected parties, such as Roland, a former mercenary eager to seek redemption, as well as the crazy bandit Krieg, Tiny Tina, scientist Tynis, and robot Little Noise. Together, they will fight against various bandits and alien beasts to find and protect the daughter of Atlas, a girl who holds the key to unlock unimaginable power.
