The movie "Avatar 2" directed by Cameron is now named "Avatar: The Way Of Water" and will be released in North America on December 16, 2022 and overseas on December 14.

At the same time, Disney will also re-release the 2009 film "Avatar 1" worldwide on September 23, 2022, with remastered audio/video.

Producer Jon Landau revealed on stage that Jake and Neytiri's family will be the center of the four sequels. Each movie will be a standalone story, but they will all be connected to tell a larger story.

CinemaCon 2022 attendees also saw the trailer for Avatar 2: The Path of Water, which was mainly a prologue showing the world and many underwater shots. Jack told Neytiri that no matter where they go or what happens, their family is their fortress.

The new trailer for "Avatar 2" will be exclusively released in theaters on May 6th, following "Doctor Strange 2", and will be released online a week later.

Avatar 2 Story:

Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) lives with his new family on Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what he started, Jake must team up with the Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and the Na'vi army to protect their planet.
