Todd Howard: Every pixel of the Fallout TV series is meticulously crafted

Todd Howard said that the TV adaptation of the "Fallout" series has been in preparation for 16 years, and the producers are meticulously working on "every pixel" in order to strive for accuracy.

On April 5, Prime Video, the platform that broadcasts the Fallout TV series, shared a short behind-the-scenes video showing the making of the series and interviews from familiar faces - such as Bethesda game director Todd Howard, who served as executive producer, and a cameo appearance from Xbox boss Phil Spencer.

Video appreciation:

In the video, Howard shared more behind-the-scenes stories about the Fallout adaptation and revealed that there have been discussions about making a TV series based on the game for the past 16 years. Howard explained: "Since the release of Fallout 3, there have been people who want to make a Fallout TV series. I have attended many meetings and had many discussions, but I always felt that it was not right."

What really got the project started was Howard's meeting with producer and screenwriter Jonathan Nolan, who is also one of the executive producers of the Fallout TV series. Nolan said in the video: "Todd and I have admired each other's work for many years." Howard added to explain the fate of their cooperation: "We hit it off very well on our first call. It was obvious that he had played these games and loved them very much, and he also had a clear vision for how to present them on the screen."

Howard continued, "We were very patient, and once we were convinced that this was the right way to bring Fallout to the screen, we started production without hesitation." He then said that they made the TV series "just like making a game", and praised the producers of the TV series for their efforts in production precision: "In game production, we often say 'try to carve every pixel', and they are meticulously carving every pixel for this series."
