Netflix cancels live-action Resident Evil series after only one season

Netflix has canceled its Resident Evil series after just one season.

Deadline reports that Netflix will not be renewing the adaptation of Capcom's survival horror game, which premiered on July 14 and will have a total of eight episodes in its first season.

Although the first episode of "Resident Evil" was shortlisted for Netflix's Top 10 TV Series, it quickly faded from the audience's view due to mediocre reviews from the audience and the media.

Netflix's Resident Evil series tells an original story set in the Resident Evil universe. In this timeline, the Umbrella Corporation established a new Raccoon City, and Wesker moved here with his two daughters.

Netflix's "Resident Evil" series has two story lines - the New Raccoon City story line and the T virus destroying humanity 14 years later. The series does not have any plots from the game version, but some iconic monsters appear, such as the Licker.
