According to the TV Drama Directors Committee of the China Radio and Television Association, the famous director Chen Jialin died in Beijing on July 7, 2022 at the age of 79 due to long-term illness.

Chen Jialin has directed costume TV series such as "Kangxi Dynasty", "Tang Minghuang" and "Empress Wu Zetian", and is well-known to TV viewers.

Chen Jialin is a Chinese film and television director, originally from Zunhua, Hebei, and was born in Nanjing. In 1955, he starred in the film "Luo Xiaolin's Determination". In 1965, he graduated from the Performance Department of Beijing Film Academy. Later, he joined Changchun Film Studio as an actor. In 1979, he became a director. In the early stage of his career, he directed films such as "Flying Cranes", "Tan Sitong", "The Last Empress", and "Baise Uprising". Later, he turned to the field of TV drama production and excelled in costume dramas, including "Tang Minghuang", "Wang Zhaojun", "Empress Wu Zetian", "Kangxi Dynasty", and "Taiping Heavenly Kingdom".
