Netflix's American drama "Night Agents" confirmed to be renewed for a second season

Netflix's political spy drama "Night Agents" premiered on Wednesday and became the most popular series on the platform. In just six days after its premiere on March 23, the streaming platform had a total of 168.71 million hours of streaming time. Netflix has now announced that the series has been renewed for a second season.

Created by Shawn Ryan and based on Matthew Quirk's novel of the same name, The Dark Knight stars Gabriel Basso as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who finds himself caught up in a vast conspiracy involving the US government and Russian operatives. Luciane Buchnan plays a terrorized former CEO named Rose Larkin.

“This past week has been a whirlwind as we finally got to share Nite with the world,” said Shawn Ryan in a statement. “It’s been such a joy to see the huge response to the show and it’s an honor for our cast, writers, directors, crew and our partners at Sony Pictures Television and Netflix. We’re so proud and excited to start sharing Nite with our fans as we begin Season 2.”
