How to Train Your Dragon live-action movie to be released in 2025

According to Deadline, Universal Pictures plans to cooperate with DreamWorks to shoot a live-action "How to Train Your Dragon" movie. Dean DeBlois, the director of "Lilo and Stitch" and the original "How to Train Your Dragon" trilogy, will return to direct and serve as screenwriter and producer. The film will be released in North America on March 14, 2025. It is reported that the cumulative box office of the "How to Train Your Dragon" animation series has exceeded 1.6 billion US dollars.

"How to Train Your Dragon" is produced by DreamWorks Animation, and its story is adapted from the children's book of the same name "How to Tame Your Dragon" written by Gressida Cowell in 2003. The story begins in the fictional Viking world, where a young Viking named Hiccup is eager to follow the tribe's tradition and become a "dragon slayer". After accidentally capturing a legendary dragon "Night Fury" one night, he gradually began to establish communication with the dragon, which in turn helped the tribe change their view of him. He found that killing the dragon could not solve the problem, but should be replaced by taming it.
