Netflix's new documentary "Cleopatra" will feature a black lead, sparking criticism of distorted history

The new documentary "Queen Cleopatra" by Netflix, the world's largest streaming giant, is about to be released. However, because a black actress was invited to play the protagonist, Queen Cleopatra VII, it has attracted a lot of criticism from netizens that it is a deliberate distortion of history.

Cleopatra VII is recognized as the Queen of Egypt (69-30 BC). She was the last pharaoh of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt. She was as beautiful as a fairy. She fascinated Caesar and influenced global history.

Netizens protested that since childhood, they have learned various history textbooks that such a super blonde beauty could not be a black person. What's more infuriating is that in the trailer of the documentary, it is directly stated, "My grandmother said that no matter what the school wants to teach, Cleopatra VII is a black person."

Although some historians have also joined the army of criticizing Netflix for "distorting history", after tracing back the various complex historical relationships, the descendants of Queen Cleopatra VII insisted that the queen "has black blood". Even recently, black people in the United States and South America claimed that "Egypt's civilization originated from black people."

In any case, viewers who want to watch the Netflix version of "Cleopatra" have to accept the reality that Cleopatra in the film is a black beauty.
