Artificial intelligence movies are coming! Japan's first fully AI-generated movie will be released this year

Recently, the trailer for Japan's first fully AI-generated movie, "Generative AI Implementation Domain" (generAIdoscope), was released, showing a variety of AI-generated fantasy scenes, and the three protagonists also appeared. This film uses an original story, and the pictures, sounds, and music are all generated by AI. It will be released in Japanese theaters in 2024.

The Generative AI Implementation Area consists of three parts, with Otsuichi, Tsuyoshi Sone, and Hiroki Yamada directing each part. The part directed by Otsuichi is called Monkey Odyssey, which tells the story of a sailor in the Age of Exploration who drifted to an uninhabited island with only monkeys.

The part directed by Tsuyoshi Sone is titled "AZUSA", which tells the story of a quirky girl with a fantasy habit who travels between two worlds to realize her dream.

The part directed by Hiroki Yamada is titled "Gramma Levitt", which tells the story of an old woman who used to be a magician in the distant future who came to an imaginary country for a certain purpose.

Now more and more industries are beginning to use AI technology. However, the use of AI in film creation is still in its infancy, and the "all-AI movie" to be released in Japan will be a meaningful attempt.
