Monster Hunter movie director is very satisfied and hopes to make a sequel

Recently, the first trailer of the movie of the same name adapted from the well-known game IP Monster Hunter by Capcom was released, allowing gamers to have a glimpse of the exciting scenes of human hunters fighting monsters in the movie version. However, many people may not know why the movie uses the time-travel design instead of completely following the existing settings of the game. Recently, director Paul Anderson gave an answer to this question.

In an interview, Paul Anderson, the director of the Monster Hunter movie, said that this time the protagonist Mira is a completely different character. The director hopes to bring the audience the experience of entering the Monster Hunter game for the first time through the movie, and Mira is the audience's avatar in the movie. She is a novice in this world and knows nothing about this world. On the other hand, Tony Jaa is a character in the game, more experienced, and is equivalent to a survival mentor for Mira.

As a member of the US Army, Mira has the skills to use various weapons, but these weapons do not seem to be very useful in the monster world. When facing these 15-meter-high monsters, she must learn a new way of fighting and also learn to cooperate.

For the "Monster Hunter" movie, Capcom seems to have only made requirements on the casting and equipment of the monsters, and is relatively relaxed about other aspects. For example, they will discuss the content of the script, determine what monsters will appear, and review the details of the hunters' equipment.

Director Paul Anderson also revealed in the interview that although many studios have approached Capcom to make movies since the success of Monster Hunter: World, he actually obtained the film authorization from Capcom 10 years ago. When talking about whether the film can be filmed as a sequel, the director revealed that this film is his favorite in his career and he also hopes to film a sequel.

The Monster Hunter movie will be released in North America in December this year.
