The Last of Us Season 2 may have a different plot for Joel's death

Recently, Pedro Pascal, the star of "The Last of Us", hinted that Joel's death in the second season may be different from the original version of "The Last of Us 2".

Recently, foreign media Deadline interviewed Pedro Pascal and asked whether Joel's death in the second season would deviate from the original game.

"Will it stray from the games? That's a good question," Pascal replied. "I think they're always going to find ways to expand upon the incredible source material that they have and surprise us with how they use that material in a different form like a TV show."

"But I don't want to reveal the plot to anyone. In fact, I don't fully understand the whole plot so far."

The actor's answer was a slight departure from HBO Max CEO Casey Bloys' confirmation that Season 2 will be bigger and more faithful to the original games. Pascal could just be dodging the question, but his answer does fuel fans' hopes that Joel's death will be different in Season 2.

In addition, co-producer Craig Mazin once said: "I am not afraid to kill characters. But Neil and I are not restricted by the original work", which may mean that the second season will be different from the first season in terms of restoration.
